As per Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, no person shall make any import or export of any goods without IEC number. IEC forms the primary document for recognition by Government of India as an Exporter or Importer.

IEC is a unique 10 digit number granted by DGFT (Director General of Foreign Trade) to a bonafide person for carrying out any import/export. IEC is issued for lifetime.

»  Details of partners/directors/proprietor/trustee with complete details

»  List of other branches/regd. offices (if any)

»  Board resolution or Power of attorney in respect of authorized person

Constitution Proof (not for proprietorship concerns):

»  Partnership Deed and NOC of other partners (for partnership firms)

»  MOA/AOA and certificate of incorporation (for companies)

»  Document through which HUF created (for HUF)

»  Bylaws (for societies, trust or club)

In case of NRI/ Foreign national

»  Normal application procedure applicable

»  Permission of RBI and FIPB needed in some cases

»  Copy of Passport

»  Board resolution and MOA
